This was recorded in the middle of summer in Rio. Collaborating with the music giants of Rio, we tried several styles such as Samba, Baiao, Afro, and Bossa. I remember when Chiquinho, the accordion player, showed me his arms after we recorded “Cancela” and he said “Wow, that gave me goose pumps.” He is no longer with us but this recording still remains within me as a precious memory.
